A quick return to CS 1.6 after years away

I had not touched Counter-Strike 1.6 for nearly a decade, but last weekend nostalgia finally won. I downloaded it from https://counter-strike-download.net/, extracted the archive and launched the game — and there it was, the familiar green menu, the classic maps, the old weapon sounds. Within minutes I was playing on a populated dust2 server, and it felt exactly as I remembered. The server browser worked, the ping was fine and there were far more active servers than I expected. If you have been thinking about coming back, do not overthink it — just download it and play.
